Once in a while, amidst the huge mess of shabbily developed ad-bait backgammon apps that flood the App Store, there is one that is actually worth reviewing, one that I (somewhere around PR 10) have an actual fun time using.
I must confess, when I downloaded the app, I was sceptical. There‘s the apps that have a neural network as engine. They play great. And they say something about that neural network engine in the description in the App Store. And then there are the others. They play a horrible beginner level backgammon, and they write something like ZingMagic‘s backgammon: „computer opponent for several difficulties – beginner to pros“ or „powerful engine“.
But actually, after something like 10 well-implemented money games, it seems to play a decent game of backgammon. Haven‘t seen the usual blunders. It doubles too conservatively.
Review will follow soon. Totally looking forward to transcribe games to get XG2’s opinion on its playing strength. Always a highlight of my life :-).
