Played a few 5pt matches against the wonderful True Backgammon for iOS today (of course on highest BGBlitz setting).

Came to this totally hopeless position:

TrueBG has 5 checkers left, all I can hope for is a) he must hit on 1 and leave a checker there, then b) me being lucky and hitting back and then c) many miracles that let me bear off my 15 checkers before he can bring home his back checker.

And the miracle happened. He rolled 41, hit me, I rolled 11, hit back, and then after a while came to this – still hopeless position.

Here he rolled normal stuff while I rolled a 66, 53, 44 and won 🙂

Of course this was all insane skill on my side and not luck at all.

This is why I love this game; you don’t get this level of exhilaration in chess.
